Spring in NYC
Spring in NYC…feeling lucky?
The best time to visit New York is in the Spring. The art scene, waking up from a gloomy winter, is ready to shine and people are ready to get out and about. What’s it worth to get your work in front of the eyes that need to see it? This is so much more than a juried show. SWG will be awarding ONE or more artists, an entire wall of booth space (10’x10’) at one of the best NYC Art Fairs. More artists may be selected (up to 5) depending on the number of entries received. As many of you know, galleries spend thousands of dollars purchasing booths and individual artists are not allowed to participate without gallery representation. This year, up to 5 lucky artists will join our stable to be represented by SWG. Entries will be judged as a whole, instead of by individual piece. Artists may submit up to three separate entries. All work submitted must be available for sale. Please price your work carefully, there will be no changes allowed after your submission. The sales price will also play a factor in our decision. This is a unique opportunity for your shot at a show in NYC which boasted over 12,000 visitors in attendance and over $1.6 million in sales for last year.

This year we are only accepting applications through the CaFÉ™online application system. CLICK HERE www.CallForEntry.org™ to view the call. CaFÉ™ is a project of the Western States Arts Federation, a non-profit arts service organization dedicated to the creative advancement and preservation of the arts. Membership for artists is FREE. Applications will not be accepted by any other delivery method. (You will thank me later) Internet access and a working email address are required in order to apply. If you are a first time user, please allow at least 24 hours to set up your free CaFE account and familiarize yourself with the system. We have created an easy to follow step by step guide HERE or watch the video HERE.
Once you have registered at CaFÉ™, you can work on an application in multiple sessions, saving as you go, until it is completed and ready to submit. You can apply at any time up until the deadline; however, applications must be successfully received by 11:59 pm Central Mountain Time on February 15, 2015. Applications that are incomplete, or not received by the deadline, will be excluded from consideration. We recommended applying well in advance in order to avoid technical problems. All artists should be members of CaFE. It is an extremely effective tool for researching and applying for juried shows and exhibition opportunities. It takes the hassle out of the process, and after you have set up your account, you will be able to apply for shows with just a few clicks. PLEASE take the time to do this if you have not already done so. CallForEntry.org provides detailed instructions and tutorials on How to Apply, Image Prep, and a Help/FAQ that will answer most questions. CaFÉ™ Tech Support staff is available via email to respond to technical questions or problems.
Although all artwork will be handled by professionals, SWG is not responsible for damage. Artists are advised to purchase their own fine arts insurance.
All work received must be framed, wired and ready to hang
Any work received packed in packing peanuts will be returned, unopened
Any work not received by the shipping deadline, will be returned, unopened
GOOD LUCK, may the odds be ever in your favor.
